Our Story
Baked Guilt Free began with a question that founder Ruby Davids couldn't ignore.
As a pastry chef, she had spent years creating desserts from scratch, carefully selecting ingredients and perfecting recipes. But after becoming a mother and baking her daughter's first birthday cake, she began looking at ingredients through a different lens.
What started as a simple desire to make the best cake possible led to a deeper curiosity about the ingredients used every day in baking. Ingredients that seemed straightforward—such as flour, sugar, oils, and flavorings—often involved more processing, additives, and complexity than she had realized.
That curiosity turned into years of research and learning. Ruby began exploring ingredient sourcing, food processing, product labels, and the growing number of terms consumers encounter every day. What does gluten-free really mean? Is vegan automatically a healthier choice? Are all natural ingredients created equal? The more she learned, the more she realized that meaningful choices require looking beyond marketing claims and understanding what is actually inside a product.
Through that journey, one belief became clear: consumers deserve better information and better options.
Baked Guilt Free was created to combine professional pastry expertise with a thoughtful approach to ingredients, helping families enjoy desserts made with greater transparency, carefully selected ingredients, and lower levels of added sugar—without sacrificing flavor or the joy that desserts bring.
Today, our mission remains simple: to help people better understand what's inside their food and to create desserts that make indulgence feel a little more intentional.
Because understanding what's inside your food should be just as important as how it tastes.
